So many healings and blessings...

So many healings and blessings have come to me that it is with deep gratitude I submit this testimony. Twenty-three years ago I was healed through Christian Science after being sick for over ten years. None of the doctors who attended me seemed to understand the case, nor could they name the ailment. When I first became ill, one doctor thought an operation would bring relief, but I grew worse after having it and during the next two years I was in bed much of the time. Finally two doctors held a consultation, and advised sending me to a specialist. They both agreed that I would not live long unless something was done, but said they could not help me.

One of the doctors then said, "Why not try Christian Science?" We knew little about it at that time, so, instead of turning to Science, I was sent with a nurse to a San Francisco specialist. After a thorough examination he said he could do nothing for me, but recommended complete rest and all the nourishment I could take. Those were very dark days indeed for all of us. My condition seemed to improve somewhat, but I was still very weak.

Later we moved to San Francisco, and one of the first persons I met was a student of Christian Science, who, seeing my need, asked me to visit a practitioner, which I did. I did not respond to the treatments, and was confined to my bed most of the time. I became very despondent and stopped treatments. After some months my husband insisted that I give Christian Science another chance, so he called a practitioner. That was in March, 1921. I soon noticed a great change in my mental state, but none physically. Then I became so anxious to know more about God that I forgot about myself. I began to obey Mrs. Eddy's command in Science and Health (p. 261), "Look away from the body into Truth and Love, the Principle of all happiness, harmony, and immortality," and in a little more than two months I was healed. I got up one morning, well and strong, and went to work in the house. I was underweight, and the day before had been too weak to move a chair. Suddenly I was strong, and continued so.
