"Giving does not impoverish"

In that well-loved book, "The Greatest Thing in the World," Henry Drummond writes: "The most obvious lesson in Christ's teaching is that there is no happiness in having and getting anything, but only in giving.

The Bountiful Lesson-Sermon

It may be said of Christian Scientists generally that they attend church quite regularly.

Blossoming Time

As we behold the radiance and abundance of blossoming time our hearts spontaneously sing a song of rejoicing.

In his memorable Sermon on the Mount, Christ Jesus pointed out the folly of looking to material things as of primary importance; of using "vain repetitions"; of praying where one could be seen of men.

In my study and practice of...

In my study and practice of Christian Science, covering a considerable period of time, I have upon many occasions witnessed the healing and saving grace in demonstration of Mary Baker Eddy's inspired statements of truth.
So many healings and blessings have come to me that it is with deep gratitude I submit this testimony.

Because the testimonies of healing...

Because the testimonies of healing which appear in our periodicals mean much to me, I should like to add my name to the long list of those who are eternally grateful for Christian Science.
It is with joy and gratitude I give thanks for the light which guided me to Christian Science.
With sincere gratitude to God, I submit this testimony.
In the spring of 1939 I found myself in a desperate physical and mental state, suffering from heart palpitation, painful breathing, strangulation, despondency, and general debility.
I wish to testify to the wonderful healings I have had in Christian Science during the past nine years.
It is the duty and privilege of every Christian Scientist to glorify God and testify to the many blessings bounteously bestowed on him by our Father-Mother through Christian Science.

Deep Desire

Dear Lord, of all the gifts Thy treasury holds,I seek that rarest boon, above all price,The one I long for most of all,The understanding heart:To know the need, unvoiced, untold; To give to hungry hearts the foodOf hope, love, and compassion; To reach beyond and free those bound by pride,Yet bruised and broken; With tender love, tact, and devotionTo break the bread of Truth,And show to them the tender careOf Father-Mother God,Which satisfies all longingsAnd brings to them true consolation.
