Pray for Righteous Leadership!

As children, many of us have played a game called "Follow the leader." The object of this innocent fun was the confounding of his followers by the one designated to be the leader—putting them through all manner of ridiculous paces.

As womanhood and manhood unfold, many of earth's children continue this game. Sadly enough, the results are not dissimilar, for the players again and again find themselves victimized by "blind leaders of the blind," to use the expression of Christ Jesus; and he warns us that "both shall fall into the ditch."

Has humanity ever needed wise, unselfed, God-governed leadership more than it needs it at this cataclysmic hour? Walt Whitman once sagely remarked, "As I stand aloof and look, there is to me something profoundly affecting in large masses of men following the lead of those who do not believe in men." But well may the peoples of the United Nations hail and prayerfully protect the evidence of leadership manifested at Casablanca, Moscow, Cairo, and Teheran, which bears the imprint of devotion to Principle and to the common good.
