Angels
"And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him."—Genesis 32:1.
Say
, brother, are you grieving? Is your human hope forlorn?
Have you fallen by the wayside with the weary and the worn?
Then arise and meet the angels of the presence of the Lord,
And behold the living glory that accompanies His Word!
For the desert that surrounds you yet shall blossom as the rose,
And the stress of mortal conflict disappear in Love's repose;
While the joy you think has vanished shall announce within your heart
That the children of the Father neither time nor space can part.
So the bitter separation, so the sorrow and the strife,
Shall be seen as Jacob's ladder to a new and finer life,
To the blessedness of Spirit, where His angel thoughts abound
With assurance that the comfort of His love is all around.
