It is with a heart full of gratitude to our heavenly Father that I submit this testimony in the hope that it will help others as I have been helped through the study of Christian Science and the generous, loving help of a practitioner.

In the summer of 1942, at the request of my employer, I submitted to an X-ray examination. After the examination, I was told to go to bed and rest for a period of at least six weeks without getting up, because I had tuberculosis of the lungs. At first I was very fearful, but after I turned to God such a sense of peace came over me that I was able to make the necessary arrangements for the moving and care of my wife and baby.

I went to my parents' home where I could study and work in Science and receive the help of a practitioner who had previously done faithful work for me. After calling her, I retired, and slept and rested for the first time in many weeks. I immediately began to improve. I spent less than a week in bed, knowing that man is not confined to bed or any material place.
