"My servant shall deal prudently"

In these words of Isaiah we may discern the forever divine assurance of Mind. He who is obedient to God will be directed of wisdom.

Mankind is prone to connect prudence with the prosaic and cautious, with that which inhibits and restricts. Not so Mary Baker Eddy, who unites it with spiritual power. On page 204 of "Miscellaneous Writings," in speaking of the action of Principle, God, upon human thought, she writes, "The divine ruling gives prudence and energy."

In the solving of his own problems and as practitioner for others, there is nothing which the Christian Scientist needs more than prudence—prudence not less in what he leaves unsaid than in what he says. Indeed, in every human relationship men need to deal prudently that they may establish good and overcome evil.
