I feel that I have delayed too long in testifying to the many blessings which I have received since becoming a student of Christian Science, thirteen years ago. Prior to that time, I had enjoyed two healings in Christian Science. At that time I knew nothing about the operation of Christian Science, but was impressed by the loving nature of my sister's mother-inlaw, who was a consecrated student. She was visiting my sister, and I idly picked up her copy of the Sentinel, which was lying on the table, for the thought had come to me that there must be something in this religion, if its adherents were so outstanding.

After reading an article in the Sentinel entitled, "Healing of Resentment," I was healed of resentment myself, and immediately afterwards was afforded a proof of supply. This was indeed positive evidence of the efficacy of Christian Science, and I purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Some time later, after the influenza epidemic of 1918, I was taken with a severe cold, which caused much anxiety in my family because two members had passed away during the epidemic. I refused to have a physician, and when alone read the chapter on Prayer in Science and Health. I read it two or three times, and the next day was up and about my duties, much to the surprise of my family.

It was not until ten years later, when I found myself ill with nervous exhaustion and without hope in the world, that I turned to Science and Health again and diligently studied it for many months. As a result I was healed of fatigue and constant headache, together with many other ills. There was still much fear to be overcome in my thought, so I visited a practitioner, and was lovingly shown how to study the weekly Lesson-Sermon, and given much encouragement. Through the loving work of this practitioner I was subsequently healed of hemorrhages and of the fear accompanying them.
