God's Guidance

The Bible assures those who "acknowledge" God that He "shall direct" their paths. The sacred volume contains many records of those who, by relying on divine Truth, prospered in their way. It also presents numerous instances showing that failure to do so invites trouble. The growing ability to depend on divine Love, which the understanding of Christian Science imparts and develops, is one of His most precious gifts to His children.

In the book of Daniel we are told that this prophet prayed to God three times a day. He turned to Truth consistently for guidance and direction. This commendable practice obviously had much to do with the fact that "an excellent spirit was in him."

Some misguided mortals, associated with Daniel in the pagan court where he held office, conspired against him. These mistaken individuals, who tried to undermine and tear down his work, suffered the dire consequences of their evil designs, while Daniel "prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian."
