My own introduction to Christian Science came about when a good friend of mine lent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At that time I was not in need of healing, but I had been searching for the truth. This truth I had not found in the teaching of the church to which I belonged, but I believed with all my heart that it was somewhere, if I could only find it. Did not the Bible say, "Seek, and ye shall find"? When I read the chapter on Prayer in the textbook I knew at once that my search was over.
