In Matthew we read, "Freely...

In Matthew we read, "Freely ye have received, freely give," and Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 79), "Giving does not impoverish us in the service of our Maker, neither does withholding enrich us." So today I want to express my gratitude for all the blessings that have come to me and mine through this great religion which Christian Science has given to us.

My healings through the efficacy and healing power of Truth have been too many for me to try to tell them all. We have had divine protection in traveling over mountains in heavy snowstorms, when the constant realization of the omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience of God, good, brought such a sense of peace and harmony that all fear was destroyed. Nevertheless, at one point we did find ourselves in a ditch. There were many abandoned cars in the ditches along the road that day, and our situation seemed grave. We immediately began to know the truth, declaring for established place, and it was not long before a man came to us and helped us out. We were very grateful for this experience, which was a further proof of the power of the Word.

We have been divinely protected in accidents that to mortal sense would have been fatal or very serious. I have had instantaneous healings of headache; and a healing that stands out was one of face poisoning. Through the patient work of a practitioner the healing was complete and permanent.

One Sunday morning when I awoke I found that an inharmonious physical condition was developing. Since it was getting near church time I knew the work must be taken up immediately, and I realized that there is no power, presence, intelligence, nor action apart from God, and that God, good, guards, guides, and governs; and since circulation is a quality of Mind there can be no discordant action, because good only is in operation. Then I began to sing Mrs. Eddy's hymns, and after I had sung understandingly awhile I was completely healed, and not only healed of that discord, but also of other troubles. I then went on my way to church rejoicing and thanking God, the Giver of all good.

Words could never express my gratitude. I am grateful for harmony and peace in our home, for all the activities of The Mother Church, and for the privilege and joy of class instruction.—(Mrs.) Bertha Finkelstein, Chicago, Illinois.
