I can honestly say that Christian Science...
I can honestly say that Christian Science means more to me than any person or thing in the world. I have learned that everything material can be taken away, but if you have Science, you have all that matters, because with this religion all your problems can be worked out—be they unhappiness, ill-health, or financial difficulties. With Christian Science, you have the only thing in this world that is sure and can be absolutely depended upon when earnestly applied.
About four years ago I had a problem so serious to solve that it seemed insurmountable at the time. However, through my working out of this situation, it proved, in reality, a great blessing, because I gained a wonderful understanding of Christian Science.
At that time, an event occurred in my life which threw me into the very depths of unhappiness and despondency. It seemed as though I could never be normal again. A Christian Science practitioner, however, did some wonderful work for me, and through her loving guidance I was shown the way. She told me that unhappiness was a sin against God—that it was ingratitude to God for all His goodness. She said that I should be more grateful, and that every morning when I awakened I should count my blessings before I did anything else. I did this, and sometimes during the day when error tried to drag me down and the terrible despondency tried to creep upon me, I counted my blessings. Though I hardly felt grateful when I began, there came to me, almost miraculously, a beautiful, calm peace.
