We read in the Bible, "A little...
We read in the Bible, "A little child shall lead them," and we can truly say that "a little child" led us. Our son, six years of age, had a playmate, the daughter of a neighbor who was a Christian Scientist. She attended the Christian Science Sunday School, and while our boy was playing in that home he must have accepted some of the truths taught there.
After we had been living in that locality about two months, our boy was stricken with tonsillitis and convulsions, and his throat became nearly closed. I told my husband to get the doctor quickly. Suddenly the boy cried out, "Get the neighbor lady." We called her, and as she entered the room where the boy was, he stretched out his arms to her and said, "Please help me." She replied, "I will, if your mother is willing." She then turned to me, and said: "If you want a doctor, get him quickly. If you want to leave him with God, I will take care of him." I accepted her help. That was about eleven o'clock in the evening, and when the boy woke up in the morning, after sleeping peacefully the rest of the night, he was entirely healed. This was twenty-five years ago, and the ailment has never returned.
I had been sick for a long time with kidney and bladder trouble, and had been told by the doctor that I must undergo an operation, but after witnessing the wonderful healing of the boy I decided to consult a Christian Science practitioner. He explained to me that Christian Science was the truth that Jesus taught. He told me to get "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and to read it together with my Bible. I could not read English, and asked if the book could be had in Danish, my native tongue. The practitioner assured me that if I would try I could read it in English, since God was my intelligence; and I went to work.
