Church Notes

Raymond, Washington (Society).—Members of Christian Science Society, Raymond, dedicated their church building at its new location on Sunday morning, March 1, 1942.

The society was first organized in 1912, and the services were held in the Philbrick Building. The church was originally located at Sixth and Franklin Streets, and was later moved to lots acquired by the society on Seventh and Duryea.

The society is grateful for the help received in past years from the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, and for a gift from the trustees of the will of Selina C. Cornish.—South Bend Journal.

Fredonia, Kansas (First Church).—First Church of Christ, Scientist, Fredonia, Kansas, held dedication services on Sunday morning, July 5, 1942. A brief historical sketch was read by the First Reader.

"In December, 1911, Christian Science Society, Fredonia, was organized as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

"Over a period of several years, services were held in the I.O.O.F. Hall on Seventh Street, and in the Brown Building on Madison Street.

"The society was organized into a church in July, 1929, and the first service held in the present location on August 4, 1929.

"On June 1, 1942, the purchase price of this property was paid in full. This was made possible by many generous contributions and the financial aid made available under the terms of the will of the late Selina C. Cornish, together with a grant from the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy."—Fredonia Daily Herald.
