The Genuine Attributes of Man
The tendency of these days is to transfer things to the mental realm. Christian Science puts disease there, along with evil and other impedimenta to well-being, and makes it clear that disease, instead of being a physical condition, a stubborn reality, is a delusion of the human mind, which the truth dissipates.
What is the truth that will relieve anyone of his suffering? Simply this: God has made man spiritual and perfect and maintains him in perfection. And whenever an individual, whatever his distress or disorder, commences to grasp this fact, he necessarily begins to escape the fallacies of pain and infirmity and moves toward the liberty of the sons and daughters of God.
It is inconceivable that the creator should make anything imperfect. Flaws in the universe, of which man is part, would bring about immediate and general disaster. There can be no escape from the conclusion that man, accurately appraised, is flawless. And the man without blemish, now under consideration, is not away off in the clouds. He is not yet to come into existence. He is here and now; and, in your genuine selfhood, you are this man.
