Thanksgiving

Three centuries and two decades ago, Governor Bradford of the Plymouth, Massachusetts, colony, proclaimed that a day of thanksgiving was to be set apart.... They were not a prosperous people as we have come to think of prosperity. Their harvest was not a bountiful harvest as we think of harvests, and they were not leading an "abundant life" as we have too frequently thought of it today.

Theirs was a rich life, however. If it was not rich in material things, it was rich and replete with spiritual values. Those values throughout more than three centuries of history have survived depressions, droughts, tornadoes, and war.
