In writing this testimony, I hope to help someone to share the happiness that I have found in the study of Christian Science.

I was of a cheerful disposition until there came into my life a period of anxiety, disillusionment, and disappointment. These errors got hold of me to such an extent that I did not know what to do or where to turn. I had been several years in this state when a relative gave me a Christian Science Sentinel. The reading of it appealed to me so much that soon afterward I bought "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, a Christian Science Quarterly, and the Bible. This last book I had never opened before, and Science and Health was quite new to me.

I soon learned the truth that God is not a personal God, whom we have to die to see or understand, but a God at hand, whose kingdom is, as Jesus expressed it, within us: "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."
