When I was beginning to search...
When I was beginning to search for a satisfying religion, I was asked to visit a Christian Science church. The first impression I gathered from that visit was the peace and joy which characterized the congregation. I had always placed happiness as a desirable quality high above many other virtues, and I wanted very much to experience it.
Later I married the friend who had introduced me to this religion, and I became more and more interested in this unfolding gospel of "good will toward men." Our life was a very happy one and our children both became students in the Sunday school and progressed with us.
One of the first healings I remember in our family was that of an abscessed ear condition which my husband experienced. This was not met instantaneously, but during the ten days that he was working this out we both learned many valuable lessons, among which was the desire to be more consecrated in our church attendance and to let God be first with us rather than to let social activities be paramount in our lives.
