It is with deep gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy that I wish to express my thanks for what Christian Science has done for me. I had been ill for a year and ten months. The first doctor I consulted said that I needed to be X-rayed. This was done, and showed osteoarthritis of the spine and shoulders. The doctor advised treatment at my home, and then at a spa. After returning from the spa, I was worse, having in my thought a vivid picture of invalids and cripples. This reduced my strength very much indeed. I then consulted another doctor, who said my heart was enlarged, my kidneys were bad and my blood pressure very high. He told my husband that he expected me to die any moment, and advised him not to leave home. My husband consulted a specialist, who said that if I persevered for four years I would stand a chance of recovery. By this time I had given up hope of being well. In all I had ten doctors, including a masseur.

A short time later a relative visited me and told me she had been healed through Christian Science of a long-standing illness. I then decided to go to a Wednesday evening meeting. It did not impress me very much, for I seemed past thinking. I decided therefore to ask for help. After the second treatment I was uplifted, and even my family commented on the difference in me. I did not attend church again until I was entirely healed, but I read and studied daily with a practitioner.

I had been in a deplorable condition, and I shall never forget the sublime moment when I realized I was healed: my ailments had disappeared, and my fears were destroyed. This healing took place five years ago, and has remained permanent.
