Christian Science Committee on Publication for Michigan Reports

New buildings were completed by two churches during the year, and six churches and societies had the joy of dedicating their edifices. In each case newspapers carried suitable articles, giving the history of the local Christian Science organization and commenting favorably on the fact that our edifices are not dedicated until all indebtedness has been paid.

While a few ministers continue to denounce Christian Science from their pulpits, there is a gradual change to a more friendly feeling toward our denomination. This is reflected in the invitations received by our churches to participate in local interdenominational activities. Although the spirit of friendliness expressed in these invitations is much appreciated, the local boards usually explain that our rules do not permit us to engage in such projects.

In a sermon radiocast over a Michigan station a minister made some reference to Christian Science which indicated his misconception of its teachings. This was called to the attention of the station manager, who arranged for the minister to make a public apology over the radio on the following Sunday.
