God's Way
I had
not planned it so, but differently
Had seen the answer to the problem come,
And reckoned on its evidence to me;
Yet here is the solution to the sum
Of all my reckoning. Now, aware, I know
That God's ways are not ours, but high above
Material sense, where Mind alone can show
Its purpose in the universe of Love.
To do the work, with thought unhampered, pure,
And leave the rest with Him—this is the way:
Out of confusion, strength that will endure,
Out of distress, the spiritual day.
Then, through the mists that mortal mind has made,
We hear the confident, "Be not afraid!"
