Surrender

"Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?"—Acts 9:6.

What wilt Thou have me to do, O God?
Speak, and Thy servant shall hear.
Thy wisdom directs; Thy comforting rod
Guides, and delivers from fear.

I know that Thy love throughout the years
Has unerringly cared for me;
The seeming vale of sorrow and tears
Was ne'er planned for Thine, by Thee.

As I turn from the glare of material sense
To behold the glories of Soul,
The glamor and glitter and false pretense
Are shattered—and I am whole.

So lead me forward. I know that Thou
Art Love and Principle—Mind:
Thine infinite goodness, here and now,
Encompasses all mankind.
