Through the study and application of the truths given us in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I have experienced many healings and received many blessings.

My first healing took place a number of years ago and was an instantaneous healing of quinsy. I had suffered many times from this ailment and spent days confined to my bed while under medical treatment. Later I was healed in one treatment of a severe attack of neuritis. The pain had been so severe that I was unable to raise my arms to dress my hair. That healing took place many years ago and has been permanent.

I should like to express my gratitude for a wonderful healing of blood poisoning of a loved one in the home. This condition was manifested as a result of the extraction of an impacted wisdom tooth. The jaws were set, nourishment could be taken only through a tube, the face was swollen so badly and the picture so alarming that intense fear was felt on my part. Nevertheless, in spite of this condition and my intense fear I was asked to rejoice and to sing hymns. I was given some very helpful references. One was in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 574): "The very circumstance, which your suffering sense deems wrathful and afflictive, Love can make an angel entertained unawares." As I studied, rejoiced, and sang the hymns, my fear was quieted and the most wonderful healing took place, a healing of mental surgery. There was no period of recuperation. This one was able to drive her car a hundred and fifty miles two days later. This testing time awakened me to see that although I was depending on Christian Science for healing, I was giving very little to the Cause. I soon joined The Mother Church and a branch church and became active in church work.
