I find it difficult to express my gratitude for our wise and gentle Leader, Mary Baker Eddy; for her great love for suffering humanity, for her patience and courage and the God-given inspiration which enabled her to make the truths of the Bible understandable and demonstrable for us. For the past twenty-seven years I have been testifying to the healing efficacy of Christian Science in our Wednesday evening meetings. In gratitude and with a desire to help a greater number, I am sending this account of some of my experiences.

As a young girl I had suffered greatly from the effects of spinal meningitis. I had taken many kinds of treatment and worn a steel brace, which relieved me for only short periods of time. Through Christian Science a friend of my mother's was healed of rheumatism, after being an invalid for many years. This led me to purchase Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy; and as I read, many questions which had been in my thought since childhood were answered to my satisfaction.

When the time came for me to have a change of climate on account of acute hay fever, which had troubled me for several years, I realized that none of the usual symptoms were present and that my thinking had undergone a great change. I began to visit the Reading Room and attend church services with the desire to learn more of the truth. The healing of my spine came gradually, with the healing of many other discordant conditions, and is complete, so that I participate in active sports.
