One Attraction
Dictionary definitions of the words "polarity" and "polarization" indicate that they refer to a kind of magnetic influence materially manifested in the attraction of the needle to the pole. Polarity in its more metaphysical sense may be regarded as a type of animal magnetism or animal attraction, but such so-called attraction has no relation to the truth of being as it is revealed in Christian Science. On page 102 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says, "There is but one real attraction, that of Spirit."
True attraction, then, is not material or physical, but is entirely spiritual. Nothing is really attractive to man, the image and likeness of God, Spirit, except that which expresses the nature of Spirit. Therefore, there is no truth in the belief that man could be, or is, attracted by anything which is opposed to, or is in any sense unlike, Spirit, Mind—divine Love. The most potent, and only real, attraction is the Christ, Truth, which draws men to itself as the perfect expression of God.
