With a very grateful heart, I wish to testify to the healing and regenerative power of Christian Science. Ten years ago I was in a very low state of health. Full of the fear of an X-ray examination and an operation, I felt desperately ill and depressed. One day I heard a friend speaking about Christian Science. I was interested in what she said and asked for more information. Later, I asked if she thought this Science could help me. She replied that she knew it could. This friend put me in touch with a practitioner, and I went to see her. The hour I spent in that office was a revelation to me, and when I left it, my heart was full of the consciousness of God's love.

Thanks to the prayerful work of the practitioner I slept all the next night, and woke without pain, very much surprised, I remember, to find it was morning. I took off the support I was wearing, gave up all medicines, and began a wholehearted study of Christian Science. I was so much impressed by the first chapter in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, that I read it through twice and then gave all my spare time to finishing the book. I had many physical healings during this period, including those of chronic indigestion, muscular rheumatism, severe headaches, and other discordant conditions. The growth which was to have necessitated an operation disappeared, and my life became normal.

In spite of an exceedingly busy home life, the way opened for me to attend church services regularly, then to achieve the privilege of membership in a branch church and later in The Mother Church, with the accompanying joy and happiness which such steps are bound to bring.
