The Voice of God
The
voice of God is heard by him who waits
With understanding heart and eager ear;
It comes in tender sweetness through the gloom
Of human mind, and baseless mortal fear;
It finds its way to dark sequestered cell
And fills it with the gladsome song of Love,
Or comes to him who walks in market place,
And sounds in lowly depths or heights above.
The voice of God resounds in every place,
The earth it fills, the sea, and all of space.
