[Original testimony in German]
I should like to give a testimony...
I should like to give a testimony regarding a healing I was privileged to experience.
In October, 1935, when my eyes were checked, it was found that their range of vision was greatly contracted. Since I had not felt the slightest pain, this report was quite incomprehensible to me. After that I had to have my eyes checked every two months, and about a year later the condition had become so much worse that I had to leave my post and work in a department where there was less danger to my sight. The dread prediction was given by the doctors that as the eye trouble developed I should become blind.
With this sad prospect I worked in the new department until the end of 1938. My co-workers were very considerate of me and stood by me helpfully. During this time I heard of Christian Science and its beneficent healings. Struggling with all kinds of hindrances I tried one Wednesday evening to find the entrance to the Christian Science church. All at once a good friend of mine stood before me and asked where I was going. Upon my reply he kindly invited me to go with him, and he led me into the church. That first testimony meeting made a deep impression upon me, and I decided to attend the Sunday service also. Since that time attendance at this church has become a necessity to me. As I progressed in my understanding of Christian Science, which quickly became greater through the study of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, the eye trouble, which was now seen to be a false belief, in a short time disappeared as painlessly as it had come. More than two years ago the medical checking of my eyes, on which my superiors insisted, showed they had been completely healed.
