My first healing in Christian Science occurred in April,...
My first healing in Christian Science occurred in April, 1911, and an account of it was published in the Sentinel of February 21, 1925. This healing has been permanent, and I desire to express increased gratitude, not only for that healing, but for many others I have experienced since; also for a greater understanding of Christian Science, which has enabled me to use it as a preventive as well as a curative.
Among the many ills of which I have been healed was a diseased condition of a bone in my left foot that had been pronounced incurable by a bone specialist. This healing took place twenty-nine years ago and has been complete and permanent. I have also been healed of a so-called incurable disease of a malignant nature. This healing was slow because there was much in my mentality to be corrected. I have also been healed of weak lungs, tonsillitis, ear trouble, headaches, influenza, and ptomaine poisoning. I have been healed of sorrow and fear of lack; business problems have been solved, and supply has been demonstrated. All these healings have come about through the loving help of practitioners or through my own study and application of this beautiful religion. I have resorted to no material remedies since I first became interested in Science.
I wish to tell of an experience I had when an automobile in which I was riding turned over. Those who witnessed the accident expressed amazement that the occupants were still alive, and remarked that nothing but God's protecting arm had saved us. This occurred at seven o'clock in the evening, and I secured help immediately from a Christian Science practitioner. Although my right arm had been severely injured, I slept most of the night. I decided, however, to have an X ray taken to determine the nature of the trouble, so the next morning this was done, and it was found that I had a broken bone and dislocation at the elbow.
