Collection for Camp Welfare Fund

The entire amount of collections taken at both services held in The Mother Church on Sunday, May 25, was devoted to the Christian Science Camp Welfare Fund, the opening of which was announced in this column in the issue of May 3.

In the announcement concerning the collections, read by the First Reader at Number 5 in the Order of Services on Sunday, May 18, Wednesday, May 21, and Sunday, May 25 (Church Manual, pages 120–122), it was stated that contributions to this fund are welcome at any time. Members of the congregation were invited to send contributions direct to the Treasurer, Edward L. Ripley, at 107 Falmouth Street, Boston, or to use the envelopes for that purpose to be found on the Hymnal shelves in the pews.

A generous response has been received from the local congregation of The Mother Church, which will help to pay the expenses of the activities now being started for the promotion of the spiritual welfare of Christian Scientists and others serving in the various branches of the military forces of the United States under the emergency defense plan.
