Annual Meeting of The Mother Church

The large attendance at the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church on Monday, June 2, 1941, indicated unmistakably the desire of the members to show their practical interest in maintaining and perpetuating the organization established by Mary Baker Eddy for the purpose of extending to mankind the benefits of her spiritual teaching. The Christian Science Board of Directors helpfully pointed in their message to the significance and value of this organization, but showed the need for Christian Scientists to make spiritual healing paramount in their daily lives.

The meeting was opened with the singing of Hymn No. 300, "Saw ye my Saviour?" the words of which were written by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. The retiring President, Mrs. Margaret Matters, then read the following passages from the Bible, with correlative passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy:
The Bible
Exodus 19:3, 4, 6 (to period)
Revelation 12:1, 5, 7, 8, 14, 17
Science and Health 568:5-7
565:13
566:29-6
567:10

After a period of silent prayer, followed by the audible repetition of the Lord's Prayer, the congregation sang Hymn No. 169, "Lead, kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom."
