Freedom

MILDRED NICKERSON HALL

There is a freedom comes from God
That mortal laws can never touch;
The liberty to serve the truth
Brings with it joy vouchsafed to such
As wake to hear the Father's voice,
And, hearing, follow and rejoice.

They have no fear of battle, these
Who see beyond the senses' dream;
They trust to God's unfailing law,
Till, guided by Truth's searching beam,
They find that heavenly view of peace
Where all the lies of error cease.

Thus peace and freedom are above
Decrees of men. They come from Love.
