I offer this testimony with a deep sense of gratitude for the many healings that have come to me since first the holy and healing light of Christian Science came into my consciousness, several years ago.

I had seemingly lost all that made material living worth while—health, business, youth, and faith in my fellow man—and had visions of being a handicap instead of a help to the loved ones who had always looked to me for protection. I was blinded by despair and contemplated self-destruction. At this extremity Christian Science entered my life.

From early manhood I had searched in vain for the true concept of a divine intelligence, which I felt must exist, aside from the man-made belief in a punitive, evil-knowing God, prevalent in all the interpretations of orthodox Christian churches. The world I lived in contained little rest, light, or beauty, and for want of Truth my house was built on sand, so that when the storms of seemingly incurable maladies came, and the winds of adversity blew, I cried to the God I felt must somewhere and somehow exist, to give me strength to carry on. My cry was answered in the following manner.
