The Resources of Soul

"Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind," writes Mary Baker Eddy on page 60 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul."

The task of the Christian Scientist is to understand that all power and permanence, all real value and effectiveness, are at his disposal, and then to bring them with love and wisdom into utilization. Since the resources of Soul are infinite, and their only purpose is to bless, the responsibility of the individual is to seek for them where they are to be found, and abandon his restless, futile searchings.

"All things," declared Paul, "work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." As we have the Bible assurance that "without him was not any thing made that was made," therefore all must be called according to His purpose. In this inalienable alliance of goodness and love, there is only one activity in progress, the utilization of the resources of Soul. Here everything is in complete accord, showing forth in one common purpose the nature of God, His presence, power, and praise.
