I wish to express my sincere gratitude for a healing I experienced in Christian Science several years ago. At that time I was given up by medical doctors and was told that I had only three days to live. A Christian Science practitioner was called on a Friday, and work was taken up for me. He asked me to come to his office on Monday morning, but this seemed at the moment to be an impossible thing to do, for I had not been able to leave my home in many weeks. By Monday, however, there was such a great improvement in my physical condition that I was able to go to the practioner's office, and in a very short time I was completely healed and have had no return of the condition, which was called, in materia medica, tuberculosis of the bowels.

I was also healed of a condition of fear that had seemed to possess me for long years. I was so afraid that I would not leave my home or go anywhere alone at any time. As the understanding of Christian Science began to unfold more and more to my consciousness, I learned to know the truth for myself, and from time to time had help from a practitioner in my endeavor to overcome this fear. Gradually it lessened, and suddenly one day I found myself free. From that moment I went everywhere alone. I became very active in church work, even being able to act as chairman of a large committee in a Christian Science church, and I have been very happy to be able to take part in its activities.

While on a trip one summer in one of the southern states, I sprained my ankle as I was climbing up a mountainside. I was in great pain, and at midnight I asked for help from a practitioner who was a member of our party. Work was immediately taken up for me. Very soon I went to sleep; in the morning I was able to wear my shoe, and I spent that day climbing mountains with the rest of my friends, completely healed. This seemed to me a very wonderful healing and a splendid proof that God's Word is "quick, and powerful."

I also wish to express gratitude for our Sunday schools. My son began attending a Christian Science Sunday School at the age of three and went until he was twenty, and he now has a daughter in Sunday school. At one time my son was healed of blood poisoning in the hand, and at another time he met with an accident that almost completely severed three fingers from the hand. The fingers were put into place by a physician, and then work in Christian Science was taken up. The healing was complete in a remarkably short time. For these and many other healings through the years I am sincerely grateful.

I also wish to express gratitude for the practitioners who have lovingly helped me all along the way, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving us this wonderful truth that makes us free.
