I feel I must tell of the marvelous help and comfort the teachings of Christian Science have been to me. The revelation of God as ever-present Love and the absolute certainty I have gained of Life as spiritual, as going on after the change called death, have taken away the sting and pain that might, in the ordinary way, have been caused by the passing on of my dear husband. To my acquaintances it seemed miraculous that I kept so calm and peaceful. Before I knew anything of Christian Science I used to fear such experiences, but now I feel the enveloping mantle of Love closely wrapped around me, at peace in the knowledge that Life goes on, and that I have not lost my dear one. Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says so truly in Science and Health (p. 283), "As mortals begin to understand Spirit, they give up the belief that there is any true existence apart from God."

I found the most wonderful help and inspiration in the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly during the most difficult weeks, the subjects being "God," "Sacrament," "Life," "Truth," "Love." For the practitioner who so lovingly helped me along and for the spontaneous help of many friends, in practical and spiritual ways, I am deeply grateful.

The Sunday services and Wednesday evening meetings which I attended provided me with "living water." If those who suffer a similar loss can only cling to "the scientific statement of being," as found on page 468 of Science and Health, they cannot fail to find comfort.
