Since I have known of Christian Science it has been proved to me many times that it is truly a religion that helps, guides, protects, and comforts us under all circumstances. Its clear teaching requires us to be obedient to God's laws in order to attain positive results, to learn to think scientifically. It teaches us to observe the fundamental divine laws: obedience and fidelity to Principle. In this way we receive the ability to understand omnipotence and omnipresence, and to apply the First Commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

I love nature, and my rides have often taken me to the high mountain districts. Never before have I been able to pass through dangerous places with the calm I feel today. I have learned that we need to rise daily above mortal beliefs in order to find true peace, which is found in the unity of God and man, and is attainable only through spiritual understanding.

In my business the immutable law of God protects me continually. As a result of the international financial collapse ten years ago, our business in luxury articles was hard hit. The concern I managed, the earnings of which depended in great measure on its foreign clientele, was obliged to close. With the closing, a large amount of invested capital, including my share, was lost. In those dark days, when my financial situation seemed ruined, divine Love met my need. Letting myself be guided solely by divine Principle, I was re-established in a position on another basis, more interesting to me than the previous one.
