A Christian Science period in the Columbia "Church of the Air" series was conducted from Station WABC, New York City, Sunday afternoon, October 12, 1941, at one o'clock, by Mr. Norman E. John, a former First Reader in a Christian Science church. This program was presented under the auspices of the Committee on Publication for the State of New York with the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors. Miss Jessie King, soloist, was assisted by Mr. Louis Baker Phillips, organist.

The program opened with Hymn No. 117, in the Christian Science Hymnal. Then Mr. John read selections from the Bible as follows: Psalms 139:7–10; John 4:24; 14:1, 15–18, 27; I John 4:15, 16; Revelation 21:1–5, 23–25. And from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: 331:11 (only), 13–14, 18–20 He, 22–24; 505:16–17, 20–21, 26–28; 303:30–9; 6:17–18; 481:7–9; 490:20–27; 572:19–5; 573:13–23, 29–2; 574:19–30; 577:32–18.
