In deep reverence to God, divine Principle, and to Christ Jesus...
In deep reverence to God, divine Principle, and to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, I should like to give this testimony in the hope that it may be of service to someone. "God is no respecter of persons," and my heart goes out in gratitude today for the healing and comforting messages of Christian Science, which are available at all times, to all humanity. I have been permanently healed of constipation, corns, ingrowing nails, and various aches and pains. A home has been provided, and happiness, which I have never in my life experienced before.
Recently, while making a trip to Texas to be present at the funeral of my dear mother, I was reminded of the words from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 419), "Meet every adverse circumstance as its master." A great sense of peace came to me, and I thought of the words from the Bible, "Be still, and know that I am God." Then almost immediately came the words from the textbook (p. 14): "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints. If suffering from a belief in sickness, you will find yourself suddenly well." Then I thought: "In reality, as we are taught in Christian Science. God is our Father-Mother, and we cannot be separated for a single moment. There is no death; Life is eternal." This brought relief and comfort, and I was healed of a sense of sorrow, discomfort, and separation.
I am profoundly grateful for Christian Science and for all its teachings; for the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly each week, for the lectures, the periodicals, and for the loving practitioners who are always willing to help us in the way of spiritual understanding. I am indeed grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for the privilege of serving in a small way; and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who has so unselfishly given this truth to the world.
