I am writing this testimony in the hope that it will help to throw wide the gates of heaven to them that are bound.

My son, now a lad of fifteen, was a sufferer from mastoiditis over a period of five years. The child's condition, which necessitated several operations, held me in a constant state of fear, and nervous exhaustion followed. Disillusioned, and utterly tired of material existence, we began our acquaintance with God through the study of Christian Science. Words cannot describe the peace and the joy that flooded our consciousness as we gained a better understanding of God, good.

A crucial test came, however, when there was a recurrence of the malady. The last word from an ear specialist was that the condition was chronic, a serious thing if neglected, and that an operation could afford only temporary relief. As the child was seized with the most excruciating pain, I became as a reed shaken with the wind, not knowing in which direction to turn. Just then my eyes fell upon a Christian Science Sentinel which was lying on a desk in the boy's room. I picked it up, and the very first article, "Choose you this day whom ye will serve," aroused me, and stimulated me to action. Since the boy had begun to attend the Christian Science Sunday School and had some knowledge of Science, I said to him, "Shall I call a doctor or a Christian Science practitioner?" He chose the latter; and we have not regretted the decision. The condition yielded rapidly to the operation Truth. The ear drainde, and progress both physical and spiritual steadily followed,
