[Original testimony in German]

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, page 1, we read: "Thoughts unspoken are not unknown to the divine Mind. Desire is prayer;" and on page 2, "The unspoken desire does bring us nearer the source of all existence and blessedness."
When I think back to the time that I began studying Christian Science, and consider the experiences which I have been privileged to have since then, a feeling of deep gratitude comes over me, gratitude to our all-loving Father, omnipotent Mind. Today I should like to recall a few cases which occurred at the beginning of my study of Christian Science.
Our little daughter, at the time about seven years old, fell downstairs one day without any apparent harm resulting; but after a while she began to complain about pains in one knee, which increased until she was unable to walk, although outwardly there was not the slightest thing to be seen. I then asked a practitioner for help, and on the evening of the third day, when I returned home from my work, the child came running to me, cheerful and in good spirits. The healing had been quick and complete. Some time later the same child injured her forearm while playing on the street. The doctor who set the arm and put on the required plaster cast stated that she would have to wear the cast for about six weeks because it was a bad break. A week later he repeated this when changing the bandage, in spite of his statement that the arm already seemed to be healed. A week later, when I noticed that the child was using the bandaged arm just like the well one, I took off the bandage on my own responsibility, in the deep conviction that God's work is perfect. Two days later, after an examination, the doctor declared that further wearing of the bandage would be quite unnecessary. In this case, too, Christian Science treatment had been given.
