A Christian Science period in the Columbia "Church of the Air" series was conducted from Station WEEI, Boston, Sunday morning, December 17, 1939, at ten o'clock (Eastern Standard Time), by William R. Knox. This program was presented under the auspices of the Committee on Publication of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, with the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors of that church. Miss Blanche Haskell, soloist, was assisted by Miss Gertrude R. Litchfield, at the organ.

Mr. Knox opened the program by reading selections from the Bible as follows: I Kings 18:21, 22; 19:1—3, 9, 11—13 (to first period); Psalms 25:4, 10; Matthew 10:1, 5—8, 18:20; and from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: Pref. vii: 13—15; xi:9—21; 232:9, 26; 233:16; 340:15.

Then the solo, "Shepherd, show me how to go," by Root, the words of which were written by Mary Baker Eddy, was sung, after which Mr. Knox read an address substantially as follows:
