Sunday School Notes and Comments

Perhaps one of the most challenging questions that come to young people of Sunday school age is, "Why should I attend Sunday school?"

Should we go to Sunday school because our parents say we should? A right sense of obedience would indicate a very definite "Yes" in answer. One of the Ten Commandments directs us thus: "Honour thy father and thy mother;" and honor includes obedience. If, however, we go to Sunday school merely because it is required of us, it is not likely that we shall gain as much as we should through willing attendance.

Attendance at a Christian Science Sunday School is a privilege. We may not at first recognize this, but happy is the one who gains this appreciation before Sunday school days are over. It may be that we attend only because our parents have enrolled us. But if we go with a humble desire to be obedient, and strive earnestly to learn all we can each Sunday, we shall soon find that Christian Science really has a rich blessing in store for us, and that it is a practical and constant help in daily life.
