Peacemakers

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." This beatitude shows that as children of God we have a glorious task to promote peace on earth.

Did not the angel song, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men," which the shepherds heard at the time of Jesus' birth, indicate what would be expected of men when they recognized, in the light of the Christ, Truth, their true relationship to God?

The need to be a peacemaker cannot be overlooked or postponed. The promised Comforter—Christian Science—is teaching men clearly the nature of God, His allness, everpresence, and omnipotence, and showing the unity which exists between man and God, the creator. Could God, Love, be at strife with Himself or with His reflection, man? In God's kingdom there is everlasting, uninterrupted peace. Bearing witness to Truth, we must establish on earth the peace and good will which reign in heaven, and prove their reality in spite of all the evidence to the contrary.
