It is with the desire to help others as I have been helped...
It is with the desire to help others as I have been helped that this testimony is given. I came into Christian Science twenty-two years ago, after seeing a loved one healed of a so-called incurable disease. Because I was a medical nurse and had nursed this friend, the healing meant much to me, for I had been very critical of what I thought Christian Science to be.
About four years later I was healed of severe septic poisoning. My life was despaired of, but through the help of a loving practitioner and friends, I was healed. A short time later I was tested again, for our baby became ill. Work was taken up, and I shall never forget the patience and love of the practitioner. The baby did not fully recover at first. Finally I asked my husband for a certain drug which I knew was used for such cases. This was purchased, but I am grateful for the "still small voice" of Truth, God. It was as though someone said, "Prove me now herewith." The medicine bottle was never opened, nor was I ever again tempted to use drugs. Needless to say, the child was healed.
We were protected from accident at a time when it seemed as though nothing could prevent calamity. I have witnessed the quick and sometimes instantaneous healing of so-called children's diseases. During a recent bereavement I was very grateful for the words from a solo, "God is, that is enough to know." I have never felt separated from this loved one.
