Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committess on Publication

In addition to about seven hundred reprints which are taken from the Home Forum page of The Christian Science Monitor something like twenty-two hundred quotations from our periodicals have appeared in the secular papers of the state with due credit. Many reports of our Thanksgiving Day service, also of the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, were published in local papers, manifesting a growing constructive relationship between our organization and the press throughout the state. Only four newspaper articles derogatory to Christian Science were brought to the attention of the Committee during the year. Replies were promptly printed. Many other news items, however, referring to Christian Science have appeared that were not considered inimical. Several favorable references to our Cause were made editorially and in news items, during the year.

Approximately two hundred regular subscriptions to The Christian Science Monitor are coming into the state through the Committee office and a gradual but steadily growing number is being added through our exchange-for-advertising plan. Friendly editors are expressing delight at the opportunity to receive the Monitor on such a convenient basis. Many are giving praise to its well-established editorial and constructive news policy.

Nineteen transcribed and twenty-two devotional radio programs were released during the year. Many letters of appreciation have been received, and much interest has been manifested, with several healings reported. Increased attendance at lectures and church services and more Reading Room activity have been reported as a of radio work.
