I am profoundly grateful for Christian Science

I am profoundly grateful for Christian Science. As a child, I attended an orthodox church, and vividly remember pondering the simple truths taught by Jesus, and trying to associate them with the pretentious pomp and ceremony in which I took part. I believed then that everyone attended church because it was a duty, and the impracticality of our devotions created in me an apathetic attitude toward religion.

In the year 1910 I first heard of Christian Science, and attended some church services. Later I procured a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and soon afterward enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School. I had an earnest desire to know more of this practical religion, and for a time I was very consistent in my study, but I later went through an extended period of lethargy concerning Christian Science.

About seven years ago, a physical condition appeared in a very alarming form. My fears, and those of some of my family, prompted me to seek medical aid. The condition was pronounced incurable, and I was very despondent for many months. Finally I turned completely to Christian Science, and after a struggle was healed. Since this remarkable healing I have relied solely upon Christian Science, and innumerable problems have been successfully overcome.
