It is with inexpressible gratitude for Christian Science...
It is with inexpressible gratitude for Christian Science that I desire to give my testimony.
I had become dissatisfied with the church in which I had been brought up, for my prayers were seldom answered, and I was not finding real comfort in its teaching. When my mother passed on, I was told I should submit to the will of God, but after I had pondered over the matter for some time I came to the conclusion that perhaps it was not the will of God that my mother should have suffered and passed on. I prayed that some day I should know a God whom I could love.
Up to this time I had heard of Christian Science only from those who greatly opposed it; consequently, I was very much prejudiced against it. About this time a sister, living in another state, wrote me how wonderfully she had been healed by Christian Science, and sent me a copy of the Sentinel. I read it through, and shortly after this I moved back to the state where my sister lived. I was truly amazed at the change in her. When I had last seen her she had been ill, and could eat only liquid foods. Now I was willing to look into Christian Science, for I was convinced that anything which could bring so much good to my sister could not be all bad.
