With a heart full of joy and gratitude I wish to tell of some of the many blessings I have received since I began the study of Christian Science.

It was not sickness which impelled me to seek this Science. For many years I had heard it mentioned, but it seemed to me then that all I heard was very strange. One day I learned that a friend of mine, who had been sick for many years and had tried many doctors, but without beneficial result, was turning to Christian Science for help. I exclaimed, "Well, if she can get well, I shall have to look into Christian Science!" She got well, and I kept my word.

I had never been satisfied with the religion in which I had been brought up; it seemed to lack something. Many questions remained unanswered; for example, Why does an omnipotent and loving God permit so much suffering in the world? As soon as I had read some articles on Christian Science, which this friend lent me, it was clear to me that here was exactly what I had been seeking. Here all my queries were answered. Naturally, God can have no knowledge of any evil whatsoever, for He made all and made it good only.
