A Daily Prayer

O light divine, thou'rt ever near
To guide our way,
Out from the gloom of doubt and fear
To perfect day.
To keep our feet from wandering far
In paths of night,
Thou art our one bright guiding star,
O Light of light!

O Truth divine, our earth-bound eyes
Thou dost set free,
That we may one and all arise
And follow Thee
In thought, and word, and deed, to bless
The world with good;
Till all men know the perfectness
Of brotherhood.

O Love divine, our hearts are cold
And ofttimes sad;
But Thou dost with Thy fire enfold
And make us glad.
Oh, help our hearts with love to glow,
Our lives to shine,
That we may all Thy fullness know,
O Love divine.
