In a Christian Science Reading Room

Above the city's hurry, strain, and stress,
May all who seek find sanctuary here;
Feel the Christ-presence in this atmosphere,
Potent today to heal and save and bless.
Furnished—a table in the wilderness
Of human trepidation, doubt, and fear!
Come, thirsty ones, to waters crystal clear;
Come, without money buy of Love's largess.
Here study to be quiet, and to feel
The certainty of God's omnipotence
Removing mountains, making wars to cease,
Since only His creation, good, is real.
And so, in quietness and confidence,
Go out with joy and be led forth with peace.
